Our Story

The Gospel Light Church began as a mission church on May 17, 1972 in East Bonne Terre, Missouri. In December 1979, Bro. Larry Allison began to pastor the church in a small one room house with only a few people to begin with. The Lord blessed us with many being won to Christ and in the first year we outgrew the small building. The Lord has blessed us with 6 beautiful acres on the edge of Bonne Terre, MO, where we have been through several building programs and additions to the facility.

This facility was built with you in mind as everything from our worship area, to classrooms, and even our fellowship hall is all on one level. Valet parking is available for those who are handicapped or may need assistance.

Bro. Herb McMillian began serving as our Associate pastor in January 1994 and we were blessed with his co-pastoring the church for 29 years. We are not only blessed with the preaching of those on our church staff but also the faithful preaching of Bro. Rich Barker.

We have a great church family that believes in ministry and serving the Lord with well over 50 people serving in various ministries. Nursery care for babies is available on Sunday mornings and bus service is available on Sunday mornings & Wednesday evenings. We also have special youth services and activities as well as several adult ministries. There truly is a place for every age group at Gospel Light Free Will Baptist Church.
